More important than WHAT this book is about is WHY given the decline in practicing Christianity in America. While there are many reasons for this, a significant factor is that once adolescents leave home, many walk away from their faith – often not returning.

One contributing reason is that their faith was largely inherited from their parents while living under their roof. Once they leave for college, the perceived obligation to maintain that faith diminishes. More importantly, older adolescents inevitably encounter peers with differing worldviews, which can lead to questions and doubts. In many cases, Christian adolescents struggle to address these doubts effectively because their Christian education was left primarily, if not entirely, up to the church. Unfortunately, many churches emphasize basic lessons rather than in-depth education, often relying on Sunday school activities that lack deeper theological engagement.
While most Christian parents have good intentions, they may not spend much time studying the Bible or considering the more challenging aspects of faith and Biblical narratives. Their focus is often on the busyness of daily life, leaving Christian education to Sunday school, and later, youth group.
Adults who have children in their lives may not actively seek out resources that explain the different views on the seven days of creation. They may not be familiar with the discussions that have taken place over centuries. However, these same adults would likely purchase books that organizes and explains these perspectives—if they knew such a resource existed. Spreading awareness about this book series is essential to bringing it to life.
Additionally, a children’s book has the unique advantage of reaching two audiences. First, it directly engages the child for whom it is purchased. Second, it reaches an adult in the child’s life who will likely read the book with them, regardless of who gave the book to the child.
The WHY behind this book idea is to provide children and adults with a way to learn, question, and understand the three main views of the seven days of creation, along with the assertions for each view. This informed understanding allows them to develop their own grounded personal view, reducing the likelihood of faith-related doubts in the future.

As Proverbs 22:6 (ESV) says: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
